Lipsticks and Summer

I love lipsticks! They are one of my favorite accessories :) Yesterday I wore an almost all beige outfit (it wasn't too boring because I had a lace shirt and a cheetah print cardigan). Anywhoo I put on some of my new lipstick and it complemented the whole beige getup! What color lipstick did I use? Well it was none other than Cherries in the Snow by Revlon.

I love this color! It's so bright and unexpected! I like to experiment with different lip colors because you can have a wardrobe with neutral, basic colors then spice everything up with a bright lip color.

This is my Revlon collection so far. I love the look of the packaging. It kind of has a vintagy vibe! I had a gift card to Target and the first thing I did was go looking for some new lipsticks! Revlon lipsticks were only $5 and there was a huge selection!

I bought the pink one in the center for my prom :) good memories!

This color is Cha Cha Cherry (what a cute name!). I hope I inspired some of you to take a chance and try a bright lip color if you don't already have one. I love mine and it gives me some extra confidence!

Happy thrifting and lipstick shopping! :)

Summertime Thrifting!

Finally! I am done with school and I have more time to thrift the days away :) I've been going thrifting a lot, and this post won't show EVERYTHING, but there's still quite a bit I took pictures of. I've been going to the usual thrifting haunts, but I also explored some new places in San Pedro with my dad yesterday. There were some pretty nice brands and I scored a few new cardigans.

I've also taken some of my own friends thrifting and they loved it! We are going again next week to look for more treasures :) Anywhoo I'll get right to my thrift finds...

This is one of the cardigan's that I picked up thrifting yesterday!
Cardigan: Banana Republic $4
Tank Top: $1
Belt: $1
Shorts: American Eagle $3

Denim on denim?
Sometimes it works!

Shirt: $3

This dress is too cute! I found it in Burbank at a thrift store by some more expensive vintage boutiques.  I love looking through those stores, but they can be speeeenddyy! I actually bought my prom dress at one of the vintage stores.. and I bought it for like $40! I had looked at another dress before buying that one that was $120.. good thing I held off before buying because there was a no return policy!

Dress: $2.50

When I went thrifting with my friends we made a discovery in the children's clothing. Children's tshirts! Some of them fit us! I found these tshirts in that section :) aaaand I had been wanting a Cubs tshirt for a while now.

Cubs tshirt: $1

This one looks big, but is adorable when tucked into to a pair of shorts

Korea tshirt: $1

Found this polo at my favorite thrift store. It's really nice and I can see myself wearing it often :)

Plaid button down: $2.50

I wasn't sure about this shirt when I first saw it, but I'm so glad I picked it up! It was cheap and the fabric print is really cute :)

YAY FOR $1 CLOTHING!!!
Happy Thrifting :)

Senior Stuff!

Recently I've been going to a lot of senior events! I had Senior brunch that I was able to dress up for :) I found a really cute skirt at the Out of the Closet thrift store and picked up a belt and crocheted top at Marshalls.  I love Marshalls.. I love their variety and SHOES!! Here's a picture of my senior brunch outfit:

Shirt: $12.99 Marshalls
Belt: $15.00 Marshalls
Skirt: $5.00 Out of the Closet
Bag: $30.00 Amvets
Shoes: Mom's vintage pumps

Isn't this bag adorable? I found it at my favorite thrift store! It's a Dooney and Bourke. I'm going to start trying to use it more. I got it a while ago, but it's such a classic!

I also went to a little coffee house/improv thing at my school. I had so much fun! I love hearing all the talent from the people I know and go to school with. I felt like dressing up and wearing a cute outfit. I found this necklace at JCPenney when my mom was exchanging something.  She had to find things to buy, so we went to the sale rack. We didn't like the necklace so much at first, but it's grown on us! I've made it a mission for me to incorporate it into my wardrobe! Here's what I wore:

Shirt: $2.00 thrifted
Cardigan: $4.00 Ventura thrift
Necklace: $3.00 JCPenney
Jeans: Macys
Shoes: Crocs! (they're actually really cute)

Better picture of this necklace! Loooove it :D

Happy thrifting! :)

Hello!

Long time no see! I miss blogging my thrift finds.. I have been very busy, but hopefully now I'm back for a while!  I have been thrifting like crazy for the past few months.  It's like a retreat from school and all the stress that's been following me around :P

Recently I went to Ventura, California which is home to some of my favorite thrift shops! I found many of these find for $1. So without further ado here is my haul from the Ventura Main Street thrift store extravaganza!

Shirt: $1
Belt: $1
Shorts: $2.50
OMG.. I'm sorry I cannot contain my joy.  Did I already mention that  I love thrifting? Anywhoo I was sifting through the racks at the place where I found this shirt and I almost passed up this shirt! I saw it, and the plaid was cool, but I wasn't sure about the fit.. I am so happy I grabbed it, because this shirt is so cute! The fit is just the way I like it.  The belt is 100% leather and is Kenneth Cole Reaction.  I love it when there is a sign saying "$1 BELTS." The shorts are from the St. Vincent de Paul near home. I've been wanting some light wash high wasted shorts and voila! :)

Shirt: $1
Cardigan: $3
This shirt was outside on the dollar rack and it does have a stain towards the bottom :( My mom is going to help me get it out, but if it doesn't work I can either crop it or just tuck it in to everything.. but for a dollar we both thought it was worth dealing with :P This cardigan is great.. I almost passed this one up too WHAT WAS I THINKING? But the good news is that I came to my senses and went back and showed it to my mom who loved it.  It's Merona from Target. I have another Merona cardigan that I bought and they are the perfect weight and are very soft!

Shirt: $1
Oh I am so happy :D Found this and who can resist another touristy tank?

BOOKS BOOKS BOOKS!
I love these.. I've been collecting vintagy reference books and I love them! I can actually  use them and they look adorable on the shelf :P
Blue book: 15,000 misspelled words 50 cents at a yard sale
Yellow book: another misspelled words book 50 cents
Green book: Rhyming Dictionary 1 dollar
Red book: Plant Encyclopedia $2
:)

My mom found this little beauty and I can't wait to make something from it with her!
Anywhoo I had a lot of fun looking at everything in Ventura and I can't wait to go back! Goodbye for now, hopefully I will updating again soon! :)

Cardigan collection!

Summer is slowly fading away and it's finally starting to cool up in California! Thank goodness because we had a heat wave the week before last. I was a little confused, but I'm used to it :P Anywhoo! I am so excited to be able to use my cardigans again! I have more than I probably need, but they are my favorite thing to buy :) Here are a few of my favorite thrifted cardigans:
I love this cardigan! I got it for around $2 and it's Forever 21. I feel like I saw it at Forever 21 for sale at $10! I don't think I would have paid that much for it. I don't wear it too often because it's kind of bright, but I can always tone it down with a black shirt like this :)

This one was around $2 too. It's a very furry cardigan with cute beading toward the neckline. My dad really liked this one, maybe I'll wear it more this year, I don't think I had much to wear with it last year.

This one is so cute! It was on sale for $2 (once again) at a little thrift store in Hilton Head, South Carolina. They have a whole bunch of good thrift stores there! My mom and I were so surprised because it's kind of a rich area, but there were jaguars in the parking lot of one thrift shop we went to :P

I have gotten so many compliments on this cardigan, and it's perfect for summer nights. I love the lightweight feel. I think this was around $3? I've worn this one a lot over the years.

I love this cardigan! Haha i seem to love all of them don't I? Anywhoo this lightweight cardigan still has  shoulder pads because I didn't think it looked to bad with them on. The huge buttons are probably my favorite detail, well that and the pocket :)

Can't wait to find new cardigans for this fall! Happy thrifting! :)

Friday Findings!

Hey everyone! I had a good week :) Well except for the whole Monday coming home and doing the work I missed while being in Orlando... Anywhoo! I'm back in the throw of things and it's going to be busy these next few weeks. I got a part in the school play as a zombie and apparently zombies go to practice about 3 days a week.  I am not complaining though! I am so happy to be in a play before I graduate. It's something I've always wanted to do, but never had the courage. It seems that now that I'm a senior I am thinking less about what others think and more about how I think. Thank goodness! :)

So today I asked my dad if we could visit my favorite thrift store (Amvets) and he said yes! I think he's getting a little weary of thrifting every weekend, but we haven't gone in a few weeks. Anywhoo it was super busy but I managed my way out of the chaos with some pretty awesome finds.

Necklace: gift
Shirt: $14.50 (Forever 21)
Skirt: $3.98 (Amvets)
Belt: 95 cents
Shoes: $3

I LOVE THIS SKIRT! The zipper is hidden and the print is so cute :) I forgot to take a closeup of the print, but it's  kind of vintagy looking.

They are wooden and surprisingly comfy! I feel like I'm going back to my  European roots when I put these on :)  I've been wanting some wooden heals and for $3 I think I did pretty well!

Super cute belt! Has really nice detailing and it will go well with  a red tooshorttobeadress-tolongtobeashirt thing!

Alright well those are my find of Friday! Now I encourage you to go and find your own treasures! Happy thrifting!

this one was neat too.. we got a stanley tape measure here for $1!

This lamp is so cute! We got the shade for $1 and the lamp for $3.50.  A lamp set for under $5!

I found this cute raincoat for $2! It's in really good condition and I don't have a raincoat so there you go!

This little sign was 50 cents :P super cute

These shoes are so vintagy looking! I fell in love and they were only $1! What a steal! I love wearing red shoes with just about anything

Where the Heart Is: $3
Book: $1
Fiona Apple CD: $1
Roswell CD: $2

This skirt is so cute! I love the length and it's super soft :)
Skirt: $1.25

I kid you not, this cardigan was 25 cents. It's the red version of  a blue cardigan that I wear all the time. I love this!  I might be able to wear it at my school with a strict uniform code. (I'll sneak it in under my fleece when it gets cold :P)

Anywhoo! I had so much fun in Florida with my mom! Happy thrifting! It's time for me to catch up on school work.
